Plenty of transcription tools assume you will either rent a cloud service by the minute or bring your own AI API key. AdjiCera assumes neither. The transcription runs locally on your computer’s CPU, and the models it needs are bundled inside the installer — so there is nothing to configure, no key to paste, and no meter running.

That keeps it private (the audio never leaves your device), keeps it cheap (no per-minute cloud cost), and keeps it working on ordinary hardware without a discrete graphics card. A stronger processor and more memory simply finish the transcript faster.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a dedicated GPU?
No. Transcription runs on your computer's processor, so it works on ordinary Windows laptops without a discrete graphics card. A more capable processor and more memory will improve processing speed.
Do I need an API key or a paid AI service?
No. The transcription models are bundled inside the installer, so there is no API key to obtain and no per-minute cloud service to pay for. Everything needed to transcribe ships with the app.
Does it run offline?
Yes. Because transcription happens on your CPU, recording and transcription work with no internet connection. A connection is only needed for optional Prime AI features or for AdjiCera Call.
How fast is it on a normal laptop?
Speed depends on your processor and memory. We are measuring transcript turnaround across representative low-, mid-, and high-tier Windows laptops and will publish those figures on the requirements page rather than quote an unmeasured number here.
